Mission
Our mission is to provide low-income and lower-middle class students with access to elite college consulting services so that they can go to college for an affordable cost.
Approach
Due to the student-to-counselor ratio across Alabama, VIDAL Access works to support the efforts made by school and district-level staff. Our model embraces social capital theory, which contends that social relationships are resources that can lead to the development and accumulation of human capital. As such, our theory of change is as follows:
If provided with more specialized and individualized access to a college consulting professional, then the students we serve will have a greater likelihood of (a) garnering acceptances to more postsecondary institutions and (b) earning more gift aid to cover college-related expenses.
